HEARN Takes Prominent Chicago High-Rise to New Heights with Wireless Infrastructure

Proud to have served as the integrator on this project! Check out details of the system below:

CHICAGO, Aug. 24, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Mobilitie, the largest privately-held wireless infrastructure provider in the United States, today announced that prominent Chicago-based real estate company, HEARN, is delivering quicker and more reliable mobile connectivity to 70 West Madison’s nearly 5,000 daily tenants and visitors representing many of Chicago’s top legal and financial firms.

U.S. mobile data usage is expected to increase by more than 600 percent through 2018, and even today, 80 percent of mobile calls originate indoors, making it critical for tenants to have reliable wireless connectivity at all times. HEARN needed a solution design that could handle wireless demands at any level, particularly as the number of tenants and visitors increase and decrease each day.

To meet the needs of the facility, HEARN selected Mobilitie to design, build and operate a Distributed Antenna System (DAS) covering 1,450,000 square-feet in the 57-story property, enhancing mobile access for tenants and visitors alike. Mobilitie’s DAS has more than 37,500 feet of coaxial cable that was used to connect across the building’s 57 stories.

“Mobilitie’s intelligent design for 70 West Madison supports the need for better wireless coverage within large office buildings, especially in dense urban areas like Chicago,” said Christos Karmis, President of Mobilitie. “We’re excited to be partnering with HEARN to deploy and operate the DAS, and we’re confident that tenants and visitors at 70 West Madison will be thrilled with the enhanced wireless connectivity.”

St. Louis Rams Fan Score Improved Wireless Connectivity with Verizon and Mobilitie

T. LOUIS, Oct. 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Verizon Wireless and Mobilitie today announced significant improvements to the wireless network at Edward Jones Dome, home of the St. Louis Rams. The enhancements led to near record mobile data traffic during last-night’s game, as the network handled 2.5 times more traffic than the average event.

Verizon Wireless recently installed their network system, tapping into Mobilitie’s DAS infrastructure. The DAS includes separate antennas located throughout the venue to boost network strength and capacity, which distributes the cell site signal in a manner that provides superior performance and capacity gains over a normal cell site serving the track from outside the venue.

“People attending events today expect an excellent wireless experience whenever they’re in a stadium,” said Brendan Fallis, president—Kansas/Missouri Region, Verizon Wireless. “We are very pleased to support fans of the St. Louis Rams and other events at the Edward Jones Dome with the excellent wireless experience they’ve come to expect from Verizon Wireless.”

Wireless Network Performs Like Thoroughbred at Churchill Downs

Expanded DAS deployment by Mobilitie successfully supports record data traffic usage during one-hour period at nation’s highest-attended sporting events.

LOUISVILLE, Ky.– May 8, 2014– PRNewswire– From the opening of the gates to the thrill of the final race, the wireless network at Churchill Downs kept the collective 260,000 Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks attendees well connected this weekend.  What helped make this possible was a unique wireless network configuration called a Distributed Antenna System (DAS) installed throughout the facility by Mobilitie, providing coverage for AT&T and Verizon customers.  With the DAS, attendees were able to enjoy an enhanced wireless experience.

The neutral-host DAS, installed by Mobilitie, more than doubled wireless coverage on AT&T’s network from last year, making it easier for customers to upload photos, share experiences via social media, and chat real-time with friends.
